Jami Rhue is a dedicated educator and life-long learner who spearheads the Youth Urban Reading & Writing Initiative (Y.U.R.W.I.).
With a profound passion for education by way of School Librarianship and Multiliteracy alongside a commitment to empowering underserved youth, Jami Rhue is becoming a viable ally in the fields of multiliteracy, librarianship, and Media education within the state of Illinois and beyond.
As a full-time educator, Ms. Rhue also balances frontline PK-8 teaching, Department Chair and Instructional Coach duties at a Title I elementary school with being an active board member of the Illinois Media Literacy Coalition (ILMLC), the Chapter Functions Representative of AISLE (Association of Illinois School Library Educators), facilitator for and member of the MediaEd Institute (University of Rhode Island), and Advisory Committee member of the ML3 Initiative (Librarians as Leaders for Media Literacy in U.S. Schools - Project Look Sharp of Ithaca College).
By the grace of goodness, Jami continues to parent her teen son through high school and twin daughters through college as she progresses through her 2nd year of Doctoral studies in Educational Leadership at her alma mater, Chicago State University.
